Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Why is the FormSG team moving to this new format?
The new format is part of our team's wider efforts to simplify the set-up page and support future feature improvements. This is to ensure FormSG keeps up to date with our users' needs, while maintaining technical stability and scalability.
How do I know if my form has automations? / How do I know if I need to review my forms?
To check if your form is affected, it would need to meet both of the following criteria:
Your form has automations set up with it (e.g. RPA, code scripts, webhooks, or software integrations such as a CRM) by yourself, the form owner, or your team, AND
These automations rely on FormSG's current email format. (You may refer to the EDM we sent for a comparison of the current and new formats.)
If your form doesn't meet both criteria, no action is needed on your end.
Note: Simply enabling email notifications, Plumber integrations, or logic within FormSG itself does not satisfy the above criteria.
Is there any impact on Plumber integrations?
Plumber pipes connected to FormSG forms will not be affected. This is because Plumber does not rely on the admin email notification to do its integrations.
Can I have an extension to use my forms with the old email format?
If you need more time to confirm the new format for your forms, we're happy to arrange a temporary whitelist extension for your specified forms to use the current (old) email formats until 30 June 2026.
To help us get that set up for you,
Reply directly to any of the EDM sent, or write in a support request at go.gov.sg/formsg-support
Provide us with the justification for the extension to use the old email format.
Send over the Form Link(s) of the forms you'd like to temporarily whitelist.
Once we have your Forms, I'll get them whitelisted, and you'll be good to continue using the old formats till 30 June 2026.
Why does my form still show the old format after 9 June 2026?
This is because you or your teammate has previously requested for a whitelist for your forms to use the old email formats until 30 June 2026.
If you think this was a mistake, please reply directly to the EDM sent or write in a support request at go.gov.sg/formsg-support.
I must review many automations as a result of the new format. Any advice?
We understand this change may require significant updates to your existing automations, and we greatly appreciate your patience during the transition!
Where possible, we recommend building your integrations around the JSON in our email notifications. We provide a longer transition window for JSON content changes, giving you more stability as our platform evolves.
If your automations rely on email subject lines, consider switching from an "Exact match" condition to a "Contains" condition. This makes your automations more resilient to minor subject line updates in the future.
I am experiencing issues with the Data Collation Tool (collate.form.gov.sg)
In order to obtain your FormSG emails in the Data Collation Tool, you may rename the email subject to the old format: formsg-auto: ... and it will work as intended.
The Data Collation Tool is no longer supported since 05 Sep 2025. While it may still function for now, we are unable to guarantee compatibility if new question types or form features are introduced in the future.
Our recommendation is to export responses directly from FormSG instead, which will ensure you always get the most complete and up-to-date data.
Alternatively, you may explore using Tiles on plumber.gov.sg if you need to collate responses and share it with others.
I prefer the old email format. Will the team revert it back to the previous version?
While this is not possible, we would love to hear your feedback on how the new version could be improved to serve you better. We welcome you to drop us a feedback at: https://go.gov.sg/formsg-featurerequest and we'll take it from there!
Archived FAQ
Can I test how the email will look like on my current forms before 9 June 2026?
Sure! We are able to whitelist specific form(s) for you to test out a sample of the changes before 9 June 2026.
You would just need to:
Duplicate the form(s) you'd like to test - from your 'All forms' dashboard, click the arrow on the right and select "Duplicate".
Reply directly to any of the EDM sent, or write in a support request at go.gov.sg/formsg-support
Send over the Form Link(s) of the duplicated form(s) in step 1.
Once we have your Forms, I'll get them whitelisted, and you'll be good for testing!
Could we arrange a time to synchronise the 9 June 2026 rollout with your team?
As our systems take some time to reflect changes across all FormSG forms, we are unable to provide an exact time to synchronise the rollout.
That said, we'll be releasing around 9 am - 10 am (SGT) on 9 June 2026 , so you're welcome to plan your deployment around this one-hour window.
We will also be sending an email notification after the rollout has been successfully completed.
